تقدّم هذه الورشة مقدمة عملية ومتعمقة في فن الطباعة الفوتوغرافية بالأبيض والأسود داخل الغرفة المظلمة. سيتعرّف المشاركون على العملية الكاملة لتحويل النيجاتيف الفيلمي إلى صورة مطبوعة، من خلال تجربة تجمع بين التقنية والحسّ الفني.

خلال الورشة، سيتعلم المشاركون كيفية تحضير وخلط المواد الكيميائية الخاصة بالطباعة، وإنشاء  (Contact Sheets)، والطباعة على ورق مقاس 8x10 باستخدام المكبّرات التقليدية.
تركّز الورشة على الدمج بين الفهم التقني والتجربة الحسية للعمل داخل الغرفة المظلمة حيث يلتقي الضوء والكيمياء والزمن لصياغة كل صورة.

في نهاية الجلسة، سيكمل كل مشارك طبعة نهائية بالأبيض والأسود من الصورة التي يختارها.
في حال عدم توفر نيجاتيف شخصي لدى المشارك، سيتم توفير مجموعة مختارة للاختيار منها

نبذة عن صفوان:

صفوان مصوّر فوتوغرافي يعمل بالأساليب التناظرية، متخصص في عمليات التصوير والتحميض التقليدية داخل الغرفة المظلمة. تمتد ممارساته عبر عدة تنسيقات فيلمية تشمل مقاسات 35مم، و6×7 للفورمات المتوسط، و4×5 و8×10 للفورمات الكبير، حيث يستكشف من خلالها البعد الحسي والتأملي في عملية صناعة الصورة.

تعاون صفوان مع عدد من المؤسسات والمنصات الثقافية الرائدة، من بينها مهرجان البحر الأحمر السينمائي، ومجلة هاربرز بازار، ومجلة هي، ومدل بيست، ومسك للفنون، ودستينيشن السعودية، وفايس ارابيا، وغيرها.

This workshop offers an in-depth, hands-on introduction to the art of black and white darkroom printing. Participants will be guided through the complete analogue process of transforming a film negative into a tangible photographic print.

Throughout the session, participants will learn to prepare and mix photographic chemicals, create contact sheets, and print on 8x10 fiber-based paper using traditional enlargers. The workshop emphasizes both the technical understanding and the sensory experience of working in the darkroom, observing how light, chemistry, and timing shape each image.

By the end of the session, each participant will produce a finished black and white print of their chosen photograph.

If participants don’t have their own negatives, a curated selection will be provided to choose from.

Learning outcomes:

• Learn the fundamental steps of black & white darkroom printing
• Preparing chemicals to producing a final print.

• Understand how to work with film negatives and create a contact sheet.

• Complete one finished 8x10 black & white print from your own film negative.

• If participants don’t have their own negatives, a selection will be provided to choose from.

About Safwan Fallatah:

Safwan is an analogue photographer specializing in traditional film processes and darkroom printing. His practice spans multiple formats including 35mm, 6x7 medium format, 4x5, and 8x10 large format photography. Through his work, he explores the tactile and intentional nature of image-making within analogue methods.

Safwan has collaborated with leading institutions and cultural platforms such as the Red Sea Film Festival, Harper’s Bazaar, Hia Magazine, MDLBeast, Misk Art, Destination KSA, and VICE Arabia, among others.
