Opening of Alistiraha exhibition 🌴 - “🌐Internet Cafe”

To keep in touch with you is our attempt to stay connected despite a world filled with nihilism, information bombardment, and algorithmic manipulation that circulates, mutates, destroys, and breaks our hearts every second. Despite all this noise... we still keep in touch, as if this network is what binds us together—the feeling of being connected, albeit through memes and likes and leaving a comment if we have the time.

We fear we might lose you if we went offline, even just once—if we paused to think, to process the past, to understand what has happened to our present, and to imagine what our future could be. We fear the world would end and we’d have no clue. We fear, we mourn—and we’re utterly terrified.

We want this ‘Internet Cafe’ to be a letter to a new digital age: sustainable, communal, and deliberately slow. We want this new network to branch into space endlessly... transmitting and transforming our corporealities into connected wires—so you can feel all our longing, be within our daydreams, and hear the playlists we zone out to.

We want to savour our time on the internet by experimenting with the earlier web—those
so-called amateurs with the high spirit to be sincere, raw, and seriously playful. A time when browsing had its limitations of time and space and when we had to be close to each other to experience the digital world. This is how we want to keep in touch.

We’re naive enough to dream of a new utopia against a dystopia—because there’s no salvation unless we see the garden, rooting up through the asphalt we constructed.
