بلو آور: ورشة سيانوتايپ I Blue hour: Cyanotype workshop

About the workshop 

This hands-on workshop introduces participants to the magical process of cyanotype printing, one of the earliest photographic printing techniques, Using UV light to create beautiful blue-toned artworks.

Participants will learn how to prepare and mix cyanotype chemicals, coat their chosen surfaces, and create unique prints using personal images, objects, botanicals, or other materials.

During the drying and exposure periods, participants will be guided through a short presentation exploring the history of cyanotype, its artistic significance, and its contemporary creative applications.

The workshop encourages experimentation, patience, and creative exploration, offering a unique opportunity to disconnect from digital routines and engage with a slow, tactile art-making process. As cyanotype remains relatively new to many audiences, the workshop aims to introduce participants to the medium while creating a welcoming environment for creativity, conversation, and connection.

Participants will leave with two handcrafted cyanotype artworks, and one frame

and a memorable creative experience they can take home.

Participants  will submit 2 personal images or selected visual references in advance, to be prepared for use during the workshop.

You are Also welomce to bring small personal "flat" objects to use during the session such as: Small plants, flower petals, or textures or personal items that holds value. Get Creative and bring anything that interests you and experiment with !

Recommended age: 12+ 

Open to teenagers and adults.

No prior artistic experience required.Suitable for beginners and creative enthusiasts alike.

About the Facilitator

Rawan AlGhamdi is an award-winning director and multidisciplinary creative whose practice is rooted in storytelling through visual media and hands-on artistic processes. Through her creative platform, Blue Hour, she explores alternative image-making techniques and experiential art practices that foster connection, curiosity, and personal expression.

Her approach combines creativity, experimentation, and education, creating accessible and engaging environments where participants can develop new skills while meaningfully connecting with the artistic process. Through workshops, creative projects, and community-centered experiences, Rawan introduces audiences to unique forms of visual expression and encourages a deeper appreciation for slow, intentional art-making.

نبذة عن الورشة

ورشة عملية تعرّف المشاركين على فن السيانوتايپ ، وهي واحدة من أقدم تقنيات الطباعة الفوتوغرافية، وتعتمد على ضوء الأشعة فوق البنفسجية  لإنتاج أعمال فنية بدرجات اللون الأزرق المميزة.

سيتعلم المشاركون كيفية تحضير وخلط محاليل السيانوتايپ، وتجهيز الأسطح، وإنشاء مطبوعاتهم الخاصة باستخدام الصور الشخصية، والأشياء المختلفة، والنباتات، أو أي عناصر أخرى يختارونها.

وخلال مراحل جفاف الأوراق والتعرض للضوء، سيتعرف المشاركون من خلال عرض قصير على تاريخ السيانوتايپ، وأهميته الفنية، واستخداماته الإبداعية المعاصرة.

تشجع الورشة على التجربة والصبر والاستكشاف الإبداعي، وتوفر فرصة للابتعاد عن الروتين الرقمي والانخراط في تجربة فنية يدوية وبطيئة. كما تهدف إلى تعريف الجمهور بهذا النوع من الطباعة وخلق مساحة مريحة للتعبير، والحوار، والتواصل.

.في نهاية الورشة، سيغادر كل مشارك بعملين فنيين من صنعه مع البرواز واحد لاحدهما وتجربة إبداعية مميزة.

سيطلب من المشاركون ارسال صور من اختيارهم لتجهيزها قبل الورشة و العمل  عليها و نشجعكم لاحضار أشياء صغيرة مسطحة مثل:النباتات و الورود او أشياءكم الشخصية للتجربه بها

ماذا سنتعلم من هذه الورشة؟ 

• التعرف على تاريخ وأساسيات فن السيانوتايپ.

• تعلم طريقة تحضير واستخدام المواد الكيميائية بشكل آمن.

• تنفيذ عمل فني باستخدام تقنية السيانوتايپ  

  بضوء الأشعة فوق البنفسجية من البداية إلى النهاية

• استكشاف التكوين والتجربة والتعبير الإبداعي.

• التفاعل مع المشاركين الآخرين من خلال تجربة فنية مشتركة.

• تطوير تقديرهم لأساليب صناعة الفن البطيئة والاهتمام بالتفاصيل.

• الخروج بعمل فني نهائي يمكن الاحتفاظ به أو تقديمه كهدية.

روان الغامدي مخرجة ومبدعة متعددة التخصصات حاصلة على جوائز، يرتكز عملها على السرد من خلال الوسائط البصرية والتجارب الفنية اليدوية. ومن خلال منصتها الإبداعية بلو آور، تستكشف تقنيات بديلة لصناعة الصور وتجارب فنية تفاعلية تشجع على التواصل والفضول والتعبير الشخصي.

يجمع أسلوبها بين الإبداع والتجربة والتعليم، من خلال خلق بيئات مريحة وتفاعلية تساعد المشاركين على اكتساب مهارات جديدة والتفاعل بشكل أعمق مع العملية الفنية. ومن خلال الورش والمشاريع الإبداعية والتجارب المجتمعية، تقدم روان للجمهور أشكالاً مختلفة من التعبير البصري، وتشجع على تقدير الفن البطيء والمتعمد.
